The orchestral transcription of Modest Moussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition is so well known that most people are surprised to find out that Moussorgsky originally wrote it for solo piano. Yet the orchestral arrangements are certainly better known to the general public. While the Ravel transcription is the most popular, this transcription by Leopold Stokowski is quite excellent and perhaps a bit more on the “rowdy” side..
