25 years after the accident, the Chernobyl area is still off-limits to humans and will be for many years to come.
Not for nature. We have already talked about the explosion of life in the alienation zone, It has left scientists and environmentalists astonished, because they considered that circle of 30 km in diameter as a dead zone.
The images you see below (click to enlarge and click again for maximum size) are taken from the documentary Chernobyl – Life in the dead zone, a beautiful film, also visible on YouTube, which, behind the story of a cat and her kittens, shows how, despite the radioactivity, flora and fauna thrive in a way never seen before.
It is a poetic film that seems full of hope. After all, the area has not become the radioactive desert that everyone imagined.
Left to itself, without the interference of the human species, nature always finds a way to survive.
