SHSK’H

The young netlabel SHSKH (pronounced ssshhkhah, aspirated) is now defunct but can be found on the Internet Archive. Founded in 2007 in New York by Jody Pou and Igor Ballereau, it immediately offered quality works, albeit in different genres, distributed under CC and freely downloadable.

The first volume contains music for ensemble or solo piano by Ballereau himself, very delicate and full of silences. Not without its charm, at least for me, listening in the silence of the night. The instruments used more or less in the various songs are voice, piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, and percussion.
From here, we listen to Frottola for voice, piano, chimes, violin, viola, and cello.

The second release consists of three pieces of traditional Japanese music for voice and koto performed by Etsuko Chida. Fascinating and slightly alien to us due to the differences in intonation compared to our scale.
Hence I propose Shiki no Fuji (Mount Fuji in the Four Seasons).

On the SHSKH website on IA you can also find the following releases.
