Abbey Road reloaded

abbet road coverIn this video for "Blame Ringo," people walk over zebras on Abbey Road, recreating the Beatles' famous crossing from the cover of their album of the same name, one of the most beautiful and sought-after in pop history. The "Blame Ringo" ditty may be cute, but it makes me feel how much time has passed.

On August 8, 1969, the Beatles crossed the crosswalk in front of their recording studios. No one knew it was their last album together, except them and those close to them.

Curiously, this date coincides with the Bel Air massacre, in which, on the night of August 8, actress Sharon Tate was murdered by followers of Charles Manson's cult. Manson later admitted to drawing inspiration for that insane demonic act from the Beatles' song "Helter Skelter" (from the White Album). Another song written by Harrison, "Piggies," also inspired that massacre, as the killers wrote the word "PIGGIES" on the door of the Bel Air mansion with the victims' blood.

In the video, I don't see anyone barefoot like Paul.
