Bowie 66

David Bowie turns 66 and is celebrating by relaunching his website and filling it with videos spanning 40 years of his intelligent career, spanning from 1972 to the present.

Furthermore, after a 10-year absence, he is preparing his new album The Next Day, expected in March, from which the song “Where Are We Now?” is taken, launched with this video directed by Tony Oursler, in which Bowie's face, along with that of an unknown woman, emerges from a screen displaying black and white images of 1970s Berlin, almost like a movie. Wim Wenders.

Memories and nostalgia, even in the lyrics:

Near the end
Sitting at the Dschungel nightclub
On Nürnberger Strasse
A man lost in time
Near the KaDeWe
Simply near the end

Where are we now?
Where are we now?
The moment you know
You know
You know

As long as there’s sun
As long as there’s rain
As long as there’s fire
As long as there’s me
As long as there’s you

Great class, as (almost) always...
