Dialogues

Jean Claude Risset – Dialogues (1975), for ensemble and synthetic sounds

In this piece, the composer attempts to build a bridge between instrumental and synthetic sounds. These two realities sometimes interact, sometimes clash, but the most interesting moments, in my opinion, are those in which instrumental and synthetic sounds merge, creating ambiguous situations from which, suddenly, a clearly synthetic or instrumental sound emerges.
