Dipity

Dipity is a site that lets you create interactive timelines. Timelines of what? Anything you want, from scientific discoveries to music, blog posts, and even your personal life. You can put anything in them, since you create them yourself.

For example, the timeline in the figure (click to enlarge) lists science fiction films, sorted by release date. Each entry is clickable and opens a tab that can contain a description, complete with links and images, as well as any comments.

Each timeline can also be viewed as a set of tabs or a simple list, and it's even possible to link a Google map with the location of the events. The scale factor is adjustable from 500 years to 1 hour! The possibilities are endless. From an educational perspective, for example, it's very useful.
