EAnalysis is a Mac software created specifically for the analysis and representation of sound-based music, i.e., electroacoustic music.
Here, for example, is how you can represent parts of three pieces by François Bayle: L’oiseau moqueur, L’oiseau triste, and L’oiseau zen from Trois rêves d’oiseau.
In each screen, we can see the sonogram and waveform at the bottom, while a graphic representation of the sound events is created at the top. This representation is not automatic, but the software has tools to identify and mark sound events (essentially a form of segmentation). It can also import data from other software such as Sonic Visualizer, Audiosculpt, Acousmographe, Pro Tools, etc.
Attention: The current version does not work with Yosemite (as does most Macs).

The development of EAnalysis is part of the research project entitled ‘New multimedia tools for electroacoustic music analysis’ at the MTI Research Centre of De Montfort University (Leicester, UK). The project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
This piece of software aims at experimenting new types of graphic representations and new analytical methods with an intuitive interface and adapted tools for analysis purposes.
