Finally, on the usual YouTube, there's some news.
Here we have a short excerpt of piano music by Helmut Lachenmann, a living German composer, formerly a student of Nono and Stockhausen, whose work is often referred to as "instrumental musique concrète" for the textured sounds he creates, often with unorthodox instruments.
Here we have a brief sampling of his sonic research on the piano. In these two short excerpts, taken from "Ein Kinderspiel"; (seven small pieces for piano) from 1980, makes extensive use of the resonances created by the pedal and by clusters of keys pressed and left undamped thanks to the sostenuto pedal.
The pieces are No. 1 (Hänschen klein) and No. 7 (Schattentanz).
In my opinion, the performance could be a little more careful: in the first piece, some of the acciaccaturas are barely audible, but Wolfgang Behrens is not a professional pianist, and in any case his performance is sufficiently intense.
Wolfgang Behrens, international commentator and author, gives a monumental performance of this contemporary work, performed in Lilienfeld, Austria, in front of a live audience.

The work is “Ein Kinderspiel” (seven little pieces for piano) composed in 1980.
Wolfgang Behrens plays pieces 1 (Hänschen klein) and 7 (Schattentanz) only.
