In the 1970s, Cornelius Cardew, until then one of the most important English composers, pioneer of the use of graphic scores and improvisation, assistant to Stockhausen from 1958 to 1960, he had a sudden political conversion to Communism (to be precise he joined the Communist Party of England (Marxist-Leninist)) which led him to condemn experimentalism as elitist (att.ne: not ethylist 😅), to write his famous pamphlet "Stockhausen Serves Imperialism" and to write ideologically oriented music for the masses, like this one:
