The Korg MS-20 is back in the Ikea version, a kit produced by Korg itself. The original was in production from 1978 to 1983 and has now become a collector's item, selling for prices as high as €1,600.

Until now, a replica produced by Korg, but about 14% smaller (the so-called MS-20 mini), was available for around €600, while this new version is full-size.
According to the manufacturers, the original analog circuitry has also been carefully replicated, using the same components wherever possible and replacing those no longer in production with others that guarantee the traditional sound.
An important detail concerns the filters. During production, in fact, the filter design was changed. The first type had a characteristic distortion and easily self-oscillated. A few years later, it was replaced by a filter that was smoother and easier to control, but less "harsh." This version features both versions of the filters and allows you to switch between them using a jumper on the circuit board. The switch, therefore, is internal (a nerdy touch).
A MIDI IN port and a USB port with MIDI IN and OUT functions have also been added.
The price, however, seems high: it's rumored to be around $1,400, with availability in March. Here's the manufacturer's website and a fun promotional video. Setting it up must be a joy.
