Printed Music

We're so used to notation software like Finale that we don't realize how a printed page was produced before these programs.
Go watch this video. The commentary is in German, but you can activate the translation with subtitles (click [CC] and select the language using the wheel). However, even if you can't understand, what you see is perfectly clear (but don't mute the sound).
Also note that the printer engraves the page as if it were in a mirror, for obvious reasons.
This explains why scores used to cost a lot, but it doesn't explain why they continue to cost so much now that everything is much simpler.
