Residents

coverActive since the late 1960s, the Residents continue their extraordinary adventure while remaining anonymous.

Despite having released approximately 60 (!) albums, made several videos, 3 DVDs, and performed hundreds of times in public, the band's members have always had their faces covered by grotesque masks (the most famous of which is that of a giant eyeball), thus never showing their true colors to the public. For this reason, it is possible that over the years numerous musicians have played the roles of the four members. The Residents have always excluded themselves from the mainstream music circuits, blending rock, electronica, noise, vaudeville, and experimentation, also producing numerous irreverent reinterpretations of classic pop songs.

Their latest production is the Icky Flix Live DVD, which will be released on April 8th:

The Icky Flix DVD is a documentary shot entirely from an audience perspective. The DVD runs in real time from the start of the show to the end with nothing edited out. There is no post production on the sound or the picture. The event was captured on six consumer level DV cameras. The sound comes from one of the cameras.
