Tropical Rain Forest

The title says it all. What I'm sharing today is an example of field recording dating back to 1986.

It's a 22-minute recording made in a tropical forest (from the sounds, it sounds like it was in South America, probably Brazil), distributed on cassette in the 1980s by Moods Gateway Recording. No processing or editing appears to have been done. The quality is that of portable tape recorders of the time, which is still good, and it's been digitized and converted to 128 kbps MP3.

The variety of sounds and their combinations is fantastic. You can stream it or download it as an MP3.

Please note: There are currently several CDs with this title available online. This isn't the recording. This one is no longer being distributed. Often, the current ones are background recordings with music added, or they are divided into tracks (birds, various animals, indigenous people, etc.). Here, however, is a recording of the forest, pure and simple, with the rain coming and going, for 22 minutes.
